RNSG 1850 Maternal Child Nursing
Focuses on the care of children, child-bearing women, and their families. Focus is placed on the nursing process, critical thinking, and caring in relation to concepts of family and child development. Content covers normal conception through adolescence and common, recurring pediatric illnesses. Pharmacological principles are taught as they relate to the client. Students continue to focus on roles of the professional nurse as caregiver, manager of care and member of the profession. Clinical opportunities are provided in the community and acute care settings.
